In 2008 a major Government Contractor contacted us to see if we could design and deliver a battery powered hot bonder for repairs to battle damaged helicopter blades in the field.  We were all ready supplying the Army with our MCH-100-A tool that was kited in as one of the tools used in the Army's Battle Damage and Repair (BDAR) program and asked their BDAR Contractor to look into whether we could develop a hot bonder to work off the same 48 VDC power supply..

We had already been working with a company called WichiTech suppling them with hot air tools for their hot bonder systems.  We approached WichiTech to see if they would have an interest in partnering with us to meet the Army's requirements for a battery powered Hot Bonder.  In 2009 we successfully demonstrated the Hot Bonder system and ere awarded a contract to produce 4 units that would be tested and used at the Ft Eustis training facility.
